The IIT Guwahati has announced that the JEE Advanced exam 2025 will be held on 18th May 2025. The registration period for the exam will begin on April 2025. These dates have been released to provide engineering candidates with a clear schedule for the JEE Advanced exam. The JEE Advanced is administered by one of seven participating IITs on a rotating basis and is used to determine eligibility for enrollment in B.E., B. Tech, and B. Arch programs at the 23 participating IITs. The exam will be based on CBT mode, with Paper 1 taking place from nine AM to twelve PM and Paper 2 being held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. According to recent reports, the IITs have decided to reintroduce the requirement of at least 75% scores in 12th Class board exams for the JEE Advanced entrance exam. This change comes after several boards announced results based on alternative assessment standards in 2020, leading the IITs to modify the Class 12 performance requirement for admission. Reinstating this criterion means that candidates will need to meet the Class 12 eligibility condition even if they score higher on the JEE Advanced to gain admission to the IITs. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has stated that "As normality has returned in board exams and schools have resumed studying the whole syllabus, the qualifying criterion in JEE (Advanced) regarding board marks would return to its original structure." Students who are taking admission in BE/Btech are selected as per the criteria.
The JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility criteria require candidates to have passed exams in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and a language, in addition to another subject, regardless of their Class 12 grade. Only the top 250,000 candidates from the JEE Main exam will be considered eligible to take the JEE Advanced. The JEE Advanced is a national-level entrance examination that is conducted by the IITs on a rotating basis for entry to undergraduate, combined postgraduate, and dual-degree programs at the IITs and the Indian School of Mines. The IIT Kharagpur will begin the virtual registration process for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam on April 30, 2025. Applicants can enroll for the exam through the authorized website at jeeadv.ac.in. The registration process will open shortly after the results of the JEE Main 2025 exam are released.
When filling out the JEE Advanced 2025 application form, candidates should ensure that all required fields are completed accurately. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in the rejection of the application. It is recommended that candidates use a web browser such as IE (version 11 or higher), Firefox - Mozilla (version 50 to 61), or Google - Chrome (version 50 to 69) to complete the application form, and have a high-speed internet connection. It is not recommended to use a mobile device to fill out the form.
The application process consists of four steps: online registration, uploading documents, paying the application fee, and printing the confirmation page. In the first step, candidates will need to register online and log in using their JEE Main roll number, password, and security pin. Foreign candidates can apply directly through the registration form. During the registration process, candidates will be required to provide their academic, personal, and contact information. In the second step, candidates will need to upload proof of their qualifications, including their Class X and Class XII certificates, reservation certificates (if applicable), and a gazette notification if their name has changed since their Class X certificate was issued.
The third step of the process involves paying the application fee, which varies based on the location of the examination center chosen by the candidate. For centers located in India, the fee is lower than for centers located outside of India. The final step is to print the confirmation page, which serves as proof of a successful application.
The results for the JEE Advanced exam 2025 will be declared on June 2025 and will be available to view and download online at jeeadv.ac.in. Applicants who took the written test can access their results by entering their login credentials, such as their roll number, DOB, and mobile number. In addition to the individual results, the exam authority will also release a list of the top performers in the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. The scorecard for the JEE Advanced 2025 will include the candidate's rank in the Common Rank List (CRL) category.
